JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked PT Transjakarta to apply standardization of the driver's eligibility to drive the bus, both those operated by Transjakarta and operator partners. "There must be a standardization of the same driver for Transjakarta drivers and operators," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, November 8. Since the series of Transjakarta accidents that occurred throughout 2021, the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) has issued a number of recommendations to minimize the number of Transjakarta accidents. One of them is by reviewing the standard complexity of Transjakarta's special work. However, until now the accident is still happening. Heru then encouraged Transjakarta to follow all safety recommendations issued by the NTSC. Transjakarta, he continued, must prioritize the mindset of its bus services with safety aspects. "Yes, it must be implemented. We encourage Transjakarta to implement it. This means that Transjakarta must build a mindset to implement safety first in every service," said Heru. The Transjakarta accident has recently returned to the attention of a number of parties. Several examples of what happened were a Transjakarta bus that hit an elderly man who died, then a bus that was almost hit by a train in the Harmoni area.
