Regarding The Video Of Mining Money Deposit Of Rp. 6 Billion To Police Officials, Lemkapi Asked For A Divpropam To Check

JAKARTA - The Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) asked the Police's Internal Professional and Security Division (Divpropam) to examine the contents of a viral video about depositing money to police officials related to illegal mining.

In the first viral video, the man with the initials IB alias Ismail Bolong admitted that he had met and given Rp6 billion to the National Police officials so that his illegal mining business was safe.

Then, the following day, IB, who claimed to be a former member of the East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Regional Police, via video denied having met and given money to the National Police officials.

"IB recognition contains many mysteries. His confession has changed," said Lemkapi Executive Director Edi Hasibuan in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 8.

To confirm the truth of the video content, Edi advised the National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo to order the Head of the Propam Police Division Inspector General Syahar Diantono to examine IB.

"Our advice is to immediately clarify so that this issue is resolved and does not become slander," said the police observer.

Edi highlighted the irregularities in the spread of the video that has just gone viral now, even though it was recorded by members of the Police Internal Security Bureau (Paminal) eight months ago.

However, Edi reminded that the appearance of the video that dragged the National Police officials was suspected to be part of the resistance of the former Head of Propam Division, Ferdy Sambo, and his men who did not accept it were fired and tried for the murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.

Edi said that if there is sufficient evidence that IB is an illegal miner, the National Police should not hesitate to process the law.
