KIB Gives A Support Signal Airlangga Nyapres, Observers Of Golkar Values Still Have Time To Dongkrak Popularity

JAKARTA - The name of the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, has strengthened the presidential candidate exchange (candidate) to be promoted by the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) after a meeting in Makassar City last week. Two members of KIB, PAN and PPP, have signaled Airlangga deserves to be a presidential candidate in 2024. Responding to this, political observer Yusak Farchan, assessed that KIB is indeed very able to encourage its internal cadres to run as a presidential and vice presidential candidate, rather than become a machine for non-political cadres. However, according to him, if Airlangga is proposed, he must fight until the end. Because, politics is still very dynamic ahead of the registration of candidate pairs in the 2024 presidential election.

"KIB still has time, (but) Pak Airlangga was given a mandate as a presidential candidate to fight to the end. Is it possible with the scenario of Mr. AH presidential candidate? I think dynamic politics, open up various scenarios and strategies for the winner," said Yusak, Tuesday, November 8. According to the Executive Director of the Citra Institute, as Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga's achievements should be directly proportional to his electability. Airlangga's achievements in government should be continuously appointed by the Golkar Party.

Seeing Mr. Airlangga in his capacity as Coordinating Minister, with existing achievements, handling COVID-19 and the economic sector should be positive for electability. Moreover, we are overshadowed by a global recession, but our economy is strong. This cannot be separated from our economic performance," said Yusak. Unfortunately, Airlangga's performance results in the cabinet have not been massive by the cadres. As a result of the lack of maximum, the party element moved to introduce Airlangga, the level of electability was not as expected.

"This is back to the Golkar Party's strategy to intensify Pak Airlangga's achievements so that the Indonesian people can know well about these achievements," said Yusak.

Previously, the Secretary General of the Golkar Party DPP Lodewijk Freidrich, said that all Golkar cadres are currently focusing on socializing the presidential election of the General Chairperson of Golkar, Airlangga Hartarto. The Golkar proposal received the support of political parties from KIB members. According to the chairman of PAN Zulkifli Hasan, Airlangga deserves to resign himself. "What I respect is the general chairman of the Golkar Party, my brother Airlangga Hartarto. So if you want a presidential candidate, it's no longer feasible, it's very appropriate," Zulhas said at a KIB meeting in Makassar, last weekend.

The same thing was said by Plt Ketum PPP Mardiono. "To keep that (economic downturn, ed) from happening, Indonesia needs a minister of economy. Please interpret it yourself," added Mardiono.
