Abrasi hit Gerupuk Beach, Sengkol Village, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The Central Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab) has just planned a meeting to discuss the issue with related parties.

"We will discuss this issue with the relevant OPD (regional apparatus organization), including the NTB Provincial Government (Pemrov) which has the authority if it is a marine problem," said Deputy Regent of Central Lombok, HM Nursiah in Praya, NTB, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 1.

According to him, the Central Lombok Regency Government in dealing with abrasion will involve the NTB Provincial Government OPD such as the Marine and Fisheries Service (Dislut), the Agriculture Service, the Public Housing and Settlement Areas Service to the PUPR Service.

"So this abrasion problem will be important later as part of our follow-up from the local government to how to anticipate," said Nursiah.

In fact, Nursiah said the Central Lombok Regency Government would communicate with the Licensing Office to find out building permits, both hotels, homestays and housing along the lips of Gerupuk Beach.

"That's why the licensing office is also important in relation to licensing, so later we will try to discuss it with various related OPDs to solve this abrasion problem," he said.

He said, from the regulatory side, there are provisions for carrying out construction on a commensurate beach. It's just that his party cannot explain in detail the distance from the shoreline, only construction can be carried out.

"Hundreds of meters can continue to carry out construction. That's why it is important to evaluate if many buildings are close to the shoreline," he said.

Furthermore, Nursiah admitted that related to marine problems and resources at sea, it is the authority of the NTB Provincial Government. He also said that the Central Lombok Regency Government is currently still in the coordination stage with the NTB Provincial Government regarding abrasion problems on the lips of Gerupuk Beach.

"So it is also important that we evaluate related to the permits and the existence of the buildings that are commensurate with this beach. This is important to solve this abrasion problem," he said.

As previously reported, the Gerupuk Beach area experienced abrasion after being hit by a fairly loud wave on Sunday, October 30.

Head of Central Lombok BPBD, Ridwan Ma'ruf, said that the abrasion on the coast of Gerupuk Beach caused the barrier walls of residents' houses and taluds with shoreline to be damaged.

"Members have come down to check," he said.
