JAKARTA The number of student brawls that occurred in the West Jakarta area made the West Jakarta Metro Police (Polres) monitor students after leaving the school gate.
This was done to ensure that no students gathered so as to pose a potential danger of brawls or other crimes.
"It ensures that the child is maintained and does not repeat the brawl between students," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Pasma Royce, Wednesday, October 26.
In the implementation, said Pasma, members of Bhabinkamtibmas will take them back home and will check at his residence every week.
"Later, we will ask the children's families, how far is the development of their behavior," said Pasma.
He emphasized that it aims not to prioritize the legal aspect but to foster students.
This, he said, the students still have a bright future so they need to be well trained and educated regarding the dangers of brawls.
Umar Abdul Azis, one of the youth figures in West Jakarta, said that by applying such a humanist approach, he believes that students will be easier to accept and the intention to carry out brawls can be suppressed.
"In my opinion, a humanist way will of course provide awareness to other students, who have recently carried out frequent brawls," he explained.
Previously, the Kembangan Police escorted students who were detained for brawls to their respective homes.
Not only escorting the detained students, the police also had time to guard the group of students who had returned to their respective homes.
The West Jakarta Metro Police (Polrestro) has carried out various efforts to overcome the brawl.
One of them is to ensure that students get home when they return home from school in the Taman Sari area on Tuesday last week.
Bhabinkamtibmas every day at school to visit schools to educate students about brawls while monitoring students to go straight home.
"There are no crowds to avoid clashes from other students," said Taman Sari Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yonky Dilatha.
