JAKARTA - A genuine iPhone that has been sealed by factories since 2007, the year Apple started selling the product, has sold more than US$39,000 or around Rp605,950,800 at the Uncle Sam Country auction.
The unused iPhone 8GB initially cost $599 when it was sold in a five-month store, after the model was unveiled by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007.

The organizers of the LCG Auction said the winner bought the 2007 gadget for US$39,339.60 at an auction held in the United States.
"For example, the factory's first release was sealed in extraordinary conditions," the auction house said, launching The National News Oct. 17.
"Almost without any defects along the surface and edge, seal the clean factory with correct and fast seam detail. The label on the back is completely pure under the seal," the auction house said.
"All are genuine, there are no aftermarket stickers or UPC labels on this one," he said.
The first generation iPhone has a 3.5-inch display and a two-megapixel camera. This device does not yet support third-party applications.
