JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno hopes that students in Indonesia have good abilities in adopting digital technology.
He conveyed that there are 5 million students in 28,000 Islamic boarding schools in various regions. This figure is a potential that can be optimized through the Santridigitalpreneur program which is expected to be able to increase capabilities and competitiveness.
"Our target is that every year 20 percent of each Islamic boarding school can increase its ability to adopt digital technology," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy through an official statement in Jakarta, Friday, October 21.
One of the Islamic boarding schools that has started to adopt digital economic governance is the Al Hasaniyah Islamic Boarding School in Sukabumi, West Java. Santri at this boarding school made several innovations, such as managing online stores, building information technology networks to export ornamental fish to Canada, Japan and Malaysia.
In addition, through products created by students, Sandiaga hopes that this can open up business opportunities and employment opportunities so that students become a digital generation for Indonesia's economic revival.
"Earlier, the products have also been displayed. We hope that this can open up business opportunities and employment opportunities when we face the threat of recession next year. So these students are not only looking for jobs, but actually creating jobs," he said.
In the Santridigitalpreneur program initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, students are equipped with digitalization knowledge with contemporary trends that can produce creative and innovative content and also have carimah akhlakul.
