JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa admitted that he had established intelligence cooperation to exchange information with other countries ahead of the G20 Summit on November 15-16 in Bali.

"Before the implementation of the G20, in terms of intelligence, we have worked together, asking them to help share intelligence", Andika said at the #G20Updates Press Conference, monitored from the Kemkominfo TV YouTube channel, in Jakarta, Thursday, October 20, reported by Antara.

With the limitations and strengths of the TNI's Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais), Andika said, it would be better if Indonesia communicated with military intelligence agencies belonging to other countries.

"What for? Yes, it is, to detect early. There may be intelligence or information from participating countries that may have something to do with the planned activities in Bali", said Andika.

The inter-intelligence cooperation, said Andika, has been going on for three months. Through this collaboration, Andika hopes to be able to complement each other's information and data from each other's intelligence so that the security situation at the G20 can be controlled.

Andika also explained that in addition to inter-intelligence cooperation, there is also other security-related cooperation, such as countries bringing their own head of state security forces.

"Similarly when the president visits abroad, usually we also take the host. In this case, each country also has its own security team", said Andika.

Specifically, Andika revealed that his party had communicated with security forces from the United States and China.

“Specifically, I have been in communication with the United States and China. So far, we're trying to accommodate. In essence, we want these heads of state to feel safe, feel comfortable", Andika said.

Indonesia will carry the trust of the G20 Presidency in 2022, and the theme is Recover Together, Recover Stronger.

The G20 is a global forum consisting of 19 countries and one region with a contribution of 80 percent of the world's gross domestic product (GDP), 75 percent of international trade, and 60 percent of the world's population.
