JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) welcomes the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo who stated that he is ready if asked to run as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election.
The chairman of the PPP DPP, Achmad Baidowi or Awiek, assessed that this attitude was a step forward from Ganjar Pranowo's political attitude, who is also a PDIP cadre.
"That's a step forward from (the attitude of) Pak Ganjar Pranowo's politics," Awiek said when contacted, Wednesday, October 19.
The DPR member acknowledged that Ganjar Pranowo's name was included in the presidential candidate exchange which will be promoted by PPP. As with the many proposals from a number of PPP Regional Leadership Councils (DPW).
It's just that, said Awiek, decisions regarding the name of the presidential candidate will be taken through the Mukernas mechanism. After the determination in the forum, the name of the presidential candidate will also be communicated to the political parties of the member of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).
"We have not decided any stance, although we admit that some of the DPW proposed the name of Mr. Ganjar as a presidential candidate," said Awiek. Previously, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo admitted that he was ready to move for the nation and state. This was conveyed when Ganjar was asked about his readiness to become a presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"What nation and country are we not ready for," said Ganjar in an interview quoted on Tuesday, October 18 evening.
Ganjar said he respects every political process within the party as a PDIP cadre. He fully left the decision in the process.
He believes the party will of course decide every one of the best things. Dialogue will also definitely be done before making a decision.
"When the party then discusses as a whole and he will look for the nation's children who they think are the best, in my opinion, everyone should be prepared for it," he said.
"So why at the beginning as a political elite did we really respect, one PDIP as my party, the two relations built by the parties that are currently talking," continued Ganjar.
