Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked local governments or local governments to step in to develop local public broadcasting institutions. The involvement aims to boost the competitiveness of local broadcasting.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when opening the 'National Working Meeting IV of the Indonesian Regional Public Radio TV Association or Persada.id' in Semarang Regency, Central Java, Tuesday, October 18.

"This government support can be in the form of managerial training and budget support if the local radio or television is owned by the local government. In addition, human resource support from the regional government is also needed so that the organization runs well," he said, quoted by Antara.

He explained that there are four main topics in Muskernas IV Persada.id, namely related to organization, institutions, human resources and broadcast innovation development.

The organizational issues include membership and funding, institutional issues are more complicated licensing, while the issue of human resources is how to provide training to members so that their abilities can increase.

Regarding the development of broadcast innovation, he said, it is more about how to adapt in providing information to the public.

"It is hoped that this deliberation can really formulate what is of the common will. I hope that from the existing problem cluster, a solution that may be worked out in the next semester," he said.

In developing broadcast innovation, Ganjar, who is also the General Chair of Persada.id, encouraged local radio and television to be able to be present in multiplatforms because the challenges now are very large, and can no longer use old patterns because it will only cover those who really love radio, not society at large, let alone young people.

"Children are now listening to their followers, they are digital, you know, they have multiplatforms. Radio after broadcasting, actually news can be extended through social media, both every local public broadcasting institution has social media so that information broadcasts can be completed through pieces and the public can get information from anywhere. It must be contemporary, and interaction space with young people must be provided," he said.

In this regard, he mentioned that there have been many examples, so local radio only needs to replicate what is already there and it is not impossible if Persada.id needs to build a special platform.

"I will support and help with the development of this multiplatform. Important TV, important radio, now what is multiplatform, say social media, children are now lazy to listen to the radio but can listen through this device, so we broadcast the link. People will continue to see then the public information can be far and long, then everyone can access it," he said.
