Declaration Of The Final Presidential Candidate In 2023, KIB Awaits Confirmation That Ganjar Pranowo Will Be Carried By PDIP Or Not

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto stated that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) will declare its presidential candidate at the end of September 2023. According to the political observer at Esa Unggul University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, KIB will take a long time to announce the candidate because it is waiting for confirmation from Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo whether he is promoted as a PDI-P presidential candidate (PDIP). "If Ganjar is not promoted by PDIP, there is a possibility that KIB will cooperate with him as a vice presidential candidate to accompany Airlangga," said Jamiluddin, Monday, October 17 morning.

If Ganjar is promoted by PDIP, he continued, there is a possibility that West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil will be in first place in the KIB candidate stock exchange.

Ridwan Kamil is expected to be paired with Airlangga in the 2024 presidential election. However, the distance between the announcement of the presidential and vice presidential candidates to the public with registration to the KPU which is tight will certainly harm KIB.

"Anyone who will be promoted by KIB, if declared close to the registration of the presidential candidate, can certainly harm the party supporting the coalition. KIB will lose valuable time to disseminate the presidential candidate pair they carry," he said.

"Like missing the train, KIB will be left behind in introducing its presidential candidate. It will be increasingly difficult to boost the electability of the presidential candidate being carried," continued Jamiluddin.

Other losses will also befall PAN and PPP as Golkar partners in KIB. This is because the pair carried by KIB only has short socialization and communication with the public so the effect of the tail of the suit on the party members of KIB is not optimal. In fact, said Jamiluddin, the results of the PPP and PAN electability survey did not reach 4 percent. This means that the two parties have a great chance of not entering Senayan in the 2024 Legislative Election.

"Therefore, if KIB carries the wrong presidential candidate and declares when the registration time for the presidential candidate is tight, then the expected tail effect will be difficult to materialize. In fact, the tail effect of the coat is what PPP and PAN hope to save it will not be thrown from Senayan in the 2024 legislative election," he said.

Unlike Golkar, Jamiluddin added, without the effect of a banyan party suit, he will continue to walk to Senayan in the 2024 Legislative Election. Therefore, Golkar will not be harmed if it declares the presidential candidate pair approaching September 2023.

"These differences will make PPP and PAN think again about participating in Golkar declaring a presidential pair approaching September 2023. Because it does not harm Golkar, but actually endangers the existence of PPP and PAN in Senayan," said Jamiluddin. Previously, Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said the declaration of a presidential candidate to be carried out by the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) would be carried out ahead of the election registration in September 2023. For this reason, KIB will still open itself up for other parties to join, including the PDI-P.

Airlangga asked all Golkar cadres present both at the location and who follow the virtual healthy path in 34 provinces, to be ready to win Golkar in the legislative and simultaneous presidential elections in 2024.
