JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar said that students are the future of the nation, so they need to get support and facilities from the Government. He expressed this when doing safaris in order to welcome National Santri Day (HSN) 2022 at the Mathlaul Islamic Boarding School Anwar Linahdlatil Ulama (Malnu) Menes, Pandeglang, Banten, Saturday, October 15.

"They are our future. They must continue to get support and encouragement and facilities from the government from the state from the state budget," said the man who is familiarly called Cak Imin, quoting Antara, Sunday, October 16.

He said that HSN, which is celebrated every October 22, is the right moment to develop the spirit of students in coloring the life of the nation and state in various fields.

"HSN October 22 is the spirit of the pesantren and students, which today numbers no less than 5 million students in 28 thousand pesantren," he said.

Regarding the 2022 HSN commemoration, Cak Imin advised that Indonesia has a huge demographic bonus potential, especially young people who have great potential in various fields.

"And students also pesantren in addition to playing a role in education, are also the economic strength of the informal, medium economy sector in every pesantren," said the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Therefore, he said again, HSN must be used as a momentum so that students not only master one discipline such as religion, but also other sciences such as engineering, medicine and others.

"Secondly, we all have to entrust the future of this nation to the extended family of Islamic boarding schools in which there are followers, there are people around them," explained the great-grandson of the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH. Bisri Syamsuri.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of the Central Malnu Executive Board Menes KH. Tubagus Hamdi Ma'ani said that it is impossible for Indonesia to stand tall until now without the role of santri and ulama.

"So, students, don't be discouraged, all of you, now students tomorrow you can become members of the DPR, but members of the DPR who care about pesantren," he said.

After leaving Malnu, Cak Imin who was present accompanied by the elite National Awakening Party (PKB) and members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PKB faction will continue the safari to a number of other areas such as Tangerang, Bogor, Kebumen, and Surabaya. The Cak Imin safari itself will actually be held until the peak of the 2022 HSN commemoration on October 22.
