Responding To The Discourse Of The NasDem Minister's Reshuffle After The Declaration Of Anies, Secretary General Of PDIP: Jokowi Focuss On Economic Issues

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto responded to the discourse of cabinet reshuffle after the NasDem Party declared Anies Baswedan as a prospective presidential candidate (readpres) in 2024. Hasto reminded that the ranks of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet should focus on working to support President Joko Widodo's policies, which are currently trying to overcome economic problems.

Regarding the reshuffle of the cabinet, according to him, is President Jokowi's prerogative. "Mr. President Jokowi is in command, he has the prerogative to conduct an evaluation," said Hasto in his statement, Saturday, October 15.

However, Hasto continued, the running of the government will be complicated when there is a party that has put the interests of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) first, in the midst of the government focusing on overcoming economic problems.

"In the presidential system, ahead of the 2024 General Election, there are complexities when there are parties that have not yet declared a temporary candidate, President Jokowi's policy is more on the aspect of improving economic problems. Moreover, the candidate is an antithesis from the President. This' is a problem," said Hasto.

It is known that the NasDem Party has declared DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a potential presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election. NasDem said that Anies was the antithesist of President Jokowi. "The PDI-P shows with an example that the regional head of the PDI-P is not antithesis. Instead, he combined various regional heads' successes, including Pak Jokowi's success, which later became the spirit of one breath of policy to be carried out by regional heads from the PDI-P," said Hasto.
