JAKARTA - The perpetrators of sexual violence against children in the Kalideres area of ​​West Jakarta have been arrested by members of the Kalideres Police. The head of the Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Subartoyo, said that the perpetrator was arrested at his residence on Wednesday, October 12.

"It has been secured and the case is handled by the West Jakarta Metro Police and the Women's and Child Protection unit," said AKP Subartoyo, as reported by Antara, Thursday, October 13.

However, Subartoyo did not explain in more detail the names or initials and backgrounds of the perpetrator.

Meanwhile, the West Jakarta City Government (Jakbar City Government) provides assistance to victims who are still underage.

"It has been handled and the victim has been found, then the victim's family has also reported to the Kalideres Police," said the Head of the West Jakarta Child Protection and Population Control Empowerment Service (PPAPP), Sikah Winarni.

According to her, this case has been handled by counselors and legal officers from the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children or P2TP2A.

In addition, Sikah has also communicated intensively with the families of the victims. According to information received from the victim, the victim and the perpetrator lived close together.

"The victim, aged 12 years later, the reported perpetrator was also a friend, but he was still a child," she said.

Sikah did not explain the chronology of the sexual violence because it had already entered the realm of the police.

It only ensures that victims get protection so they are not traumatized and depressed.

"We make sure P2TP2A officers continue to accompany the victim so that the psychological condition can recover," she said.

Previously, the recording of the alleged sexual assault had gone viral on social media after the 36-second video was uploaded by someone on the @wargajakarta.id Instagram account.

In the video, a boy and an adult man are seen having sexual activity in the middle of the pond and allegedly happened on Sunday, October 9th. The activity was recorded by someone from the top floor of a hospital.
