JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP, Puan Maharani, met with the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, wrapped in a joint morning walk in the Monas area, Central Jakarta.

From VOI's observation, Saturday, October 8, Puan arrived at around 08.00 WIB. Meanwhile, Airlangga arrived at Monas 10 minutes earlier.

As soon as she arrived at Monas, Puan, wearing a white shirt, was greeted by Airlangga, who was in black. As soon as he got out of his Alphard car, the chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives immediately shook hands with Airlangga who was already waiting.

"Good morning," said Puan while holding Airlangga's hand with a smile.

Airlangga then took Puan's hand and the two immediately walked in the morning. They occasionally talk while laughing.

On the sidelines of the street that morning, Puan and Airlangga threw a joke at each other. One of them, related to the gates of the Palace.

The moment occurred when a road participant said to the Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Nurul Arifin, "Mbak, the door to the palace should not be opened just yet."

Hearing the joke, the morning walk participants including Puan laughed. Airlangga, who heard the joke, replied, "Are we going in now?"

Next, they laughed and continued their morning walk. After the morning walk, Puan and Airlangga continued their activities with breakfast together while chatting casually.

In this activity, Puan Maharani was accompanied by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto; Chairman of the PDIP Election Winning Body (Bappilu) Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul; Chairman of the PDIP faction Utut Adianto; and a number of members of the DPR RI from the PDIP faction.

Meanwhile, Airlangga was also accompanied by the Secretary General of the Golkar Party Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus; Chairman of the Golkar DPP Ace Hasan Syadzily; Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party Bambang Soesatyo; and other Golkar cadres.

Previously, Puan Maharani said that her meeting with Airlangga was in the context of friendship. He stated that the meeting with Airlangga would equate the vision and mission between PDIP and Golkar in welcoming the five-year democratic party.

"Meeting of friendship to discuss how to equalize vision and mission, views in building the nation and state towards 2024," said Puan at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, October 7.

According to him, the meeting had become an obligation as ordered by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"It's a gathering meeting that I really have to do, and it was agreed to do it together," said Puan.
