Army Chief Of Staff, General Dudung, Made A Pilgrimage To Gus Dur's Grave: My Dream Since The First

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff General TNI Dudung Abdurachman visited the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang Regency, East Java and made a pilgrimage to the grave of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).

Gus Dur's grave is located in the Islamic boarding school complex. General Dudung's arrival was greeted directly by the caretaker of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, Friday, October 7.

This pilgrimage to the graves of Indonesian leaders is a series of activities from General Dudung's working visit to Kodam V/Brawijaya. Including in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the TNI in 2022.

Last Thursday, October 6, General Dudung made a pilgrimage to Bung Karno's grave in Blitar.

"This is my dream from the beginning, I want to visit him (the pilgrimage to Bung Karno and Gusdur's graves). We pray that the spirit of the deceased will always get the best place by Allah SWT's side," said General Dudung as quoted by Dispenad.

General Dudung revealed that his arrival at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School was a form of respect for the ulama. This includes helping the success of the government's program to make the Indonesian nation even more advanced in the future.

After the pilgrimage, General Dudung and his entourage performed Friday prayers in congregation and met face-to-face and had a relationship with the administrators and students at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School.
