JAKARTA - A total of three students of MTsN 19 South Jakarta were killed when a school wall fell on them. So far, the information says that the cause of the collapse of the wall was caused by being submerged in the overflowing water of the Krukut River.

Cilandak Police Chief, Commissioner Multazam, said the incident occurred at the 19 Jakarta MTsN School, on Jalan Pinang Kaijati, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 6, at 14.00 WIB.

The incident started when it was raining with high intensity in the Cilandak area since noon, so the Krukut River overflowed and pushed the building of MTsN 19 Jakarta.

"The wall collapsed due to overflowing water which caused flooding. The water pushed the wall so that it collapsed and resulted in injuries and deaths", said Commissioner Multazam at the location, Thursday, October 6.

The process of evacuating victims was carried out by the fire brigade and Civil Service Police Unit.

"We work hand in hand with the residents to comb through, maybe there are victims who may still be trapped. Meanwhile, the fire department is trying to bring in pumps to ensure that no more victims are left behind", he said.

The victim has been taken to Prikasih Hospital, Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta. Regarding the number of victims, Multazam said three people died.

"Initial information is that there were 3 who died, but the Cilandak Police Detective still confirmed the data at Prikasih Hospital. So it still needs validation", he concluded.
