Jokowi Yakin Tahura Ngurah Rai Bisa Be A Symbol Of Indonesia's Concern For The Environment

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) believes that the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park (Tahura), Bali, will represent Indonesia's concern for environmental issues when the arrival of state leaders at the G20 Summit on November 15-16.

President Jokowi, who had visited Tahura Ngurah Rai directly, was surprised that the nature conservation area had undergone many changes and preparations for the G20 Summit.

"I entered here, I was really surprised that it had been prepared, it had been changed, there was also a nursery whose production was six seeds," said the President on the sidelines of a visit in Bali, Thursday, October 6, as reported by Antara.

The President emphasized his belief that Tahura Ngurah Rai will be the main point in reflecting Indonesia's concern for environmental issues.

"Our concern for the environment is our concern for reforestation, both mangroves and tropical rains. So, the leaders we invite here can see in person," he added.

Tahura Ngurah Rai was one of the points visited by President Jokowi during his working visit to review the progress of physical preparation for the G20 Summit.

"I see that everything is almost ready, thank God. We hope that later the implementation of the Summit will also run well and smoothly," said Jokowi.

The President's working visit in Bali to review the physical preparations of the G20 Summit was a follow-up to an internal meeting he chaired at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday (3/10).

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the meeting also discussed preparations in terms of substance.

"Indonesia hopes that the overall results of the discussion can be simple and summarized in 34 paragraphs and this has begun to be prepared," said Airlangga.

Indonesia carries three priority issues in the G20 Presidency, namely the global health architecture, digital transformation, and sustainable energy transition, with the main theme Recover Together Recover Stronger.
