Minister Of Home Affairs Asks Regional Heads To Change Outdated Mindsets, Must Be Digitally Literate

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian asked regional heads to change outdated mindsets so that they do not lead in the usual way.

"This is necessary because the community is faced with global changes that require services to be carried out effectively and efficiently," said Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 5.

The Minister of Home Affairs emphasized that regional heads who are not innovative and adaptive to change will surely be left behind.

"It is necessary to be digitally literate and then see the potentials that can be applied and applied in their respective regions to help their respective regions," he said.

The Minister of Home Affairs hopes that regional heads have the political will (political will) in adopting technological developments to apply the smart city concept in their respective regions.

Tito asked regional heads not to hesitate to take policies to imitate the smart city concept that was previously implemented in other regions.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian asked regional heads to take advantage of the development of information and communication technology (ICT) to be able to create a smart city.

"Globalization causes the world and the order of life to change faster. Therefore, regional heads are required to be able to adapt to the times, especially in utilizing information technology," he said.

The use of ICT, he continued, creates an all-integrated system so that regional heads can make decisions quickly, precisely, and accurately.

"We can no longer rely on 'business as usual', relying on ordinary methods, it's too late. Therefore, it is necessary to take steps to utilize information and communication technology," he said.
