The KPK Ensures That The Summons Of Lukas Enembe's Wife And Child Is In Accordance With The Rule Of Law

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the summons of the wife and child of the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Yulce Wenda and Astract Bona Timoromo Enembe are in accordance with the law. They will be summoned as witnesses related to the alleged corruption that ensnared Lukas. "We summoned them as witnesses. We have sent the summons according to the law," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, October 5. Ali reminded all witnesses, including Lukas' wife and child, to cooperate. Moreover, their presence does not need to be accompanied by a legal representative. "There is no legal basis for witnesses to be accompanied by legal counsel," he said. As previously reported, the KPK has named Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe as a suspect in alleged corruption. The case that ensnared him has not been detailed. In investigating this case, the anti-corruption commission summoned a number of witnesses. One of them, Yulce Wenda, who is the wife of Lukas and Astract Bona Timoramo Enembe, his son. Lukas will actually be questioned on Monday, September 26 at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. However, this examination failed because he admitted to being sick and could not provide information. Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission will again make a summons. However, it has not been revealed when it will be implemented. Lukas was only asked to cooperate in fulfilling the investigator's summons. The KPK said that his statement was urgently needed to clarify the allegations of corruption that occurred.
