KALTIM - The Class II A Narcotics Correctional Institution (Lapas) Samarinda thwarted the smuggling of 5 grams of methamphetamine on Monday, October 3 morning.

The Head of the Samarinda Class II A Narcotics Headquarters, Hidayat, said that the perpetrator, a woman with the initials MA (25), was handed over to the Samarinda Police Narcotics Unit for examination and legal processing.

"The visitor with the initials MA from Samarinda registered to visit the inmates of the Samarinda Narcotics Prison (WBP) with the initials RF," said Hidayat in Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Tuesday, October 4.

Based on a provisional confession to prison officers, Hidayat said, MA dared to smuggle methamphetamine allegedly because RF was ordered to be recognized as her husband.

Hidayat explained that MA was caught starting from his visit to one of the inmates or inmates at the Samarinda Narcotics Prison.

When entering the prison, the Supreme Court went smoothly while undergoing examination. However, during a re-examination when leaving the visiting room, the Supreme Court showed a different attitude.

The woman refused to be questioned. Officers who raised suspicions then reported the incident to the guard commander so that the Supreme Court was examined in detail.

"After we conducted a more thorough inspection, it was finally found that in the back pocket of the left side of the pants there was a medium clip package suspected of having methamphetamine weighing approximately 5 grams," said Kalapas, quoted by Antara.

He said, based on the findings of the case, the Supreme Court and the inmates he visited were taken to one of the rooms in prison for safekeeping.

"Atas kejadian ini, kami juga telah melaporkan kepada Kadivpas dan Kakanwil Kemenkumham Kaltim," ujar Hidayat.
