YOGYAKARTA The NasDem Party finally announced the presidential candidate (candidate) to be carried in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres), namely the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. After that, questions arose about the criteria for Anies Baswedan's Cawapres who would accompany him later.

As is known, the announcement of Anies' response made by NasDem was held today, Monday, October 3 at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta. Responding to his omission, Anies said that his advancement as a presidential candidate became a worship for him. Therefore he will continue to try.

"By asking for prayers, God willing, this long journey will not be a tough journey but a light journey," he said.

Regarding the candidate for vice president Anies Baswedan, the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, said that Anies had the authority to choose his own representatives. The party is also ready to provide support for Anies' choice.

"Regarding the vice president, NasDem has given authority to Bung Anies," Surya Paloh told reporters.

Ketum NasDem Surya Paloh admitted that he did not want to find a vice presidential candidate for Anies Baswedan because he did not want to take the risk if it turned out that the candidate he chose for was not suitable for his party's presidential candidate. Moreover, NasDem wants to build a government with a strong, solid, and harmonious cabinet

"How do we suddenly choose a vice presidential candidate that doesn't match him, that's called looking for disease," said Surya.

He believes Anies Baswedan can find a suitable partner to lead him to become president of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024. Therefore, NasDem gave Anies the freedom of choice.

"When we are sure that we choose a presidential candidate, we must believe in choosing the opportunity for him to choose the vice presidential candidate," he said.

Anies Baswedan himself had revealed a leak of the criteria for the vice presidential candidate, namely all the nation's sons who are ready to walk to elevate the interests of the Republic.

"The bottom line is all the sons of the nation. All those who are ready to walk together elevate the interests of the Republic [Indonesia] above other interests, that will be free for us to walk together," said Anies at the NasDem DPP Office, Central Jakarta.

Unfortunately, Anies did not reveal in detail regarding his companion because he was still focused on carrying out his duties as Governor of DKI Jakarta. The issue of the vice president will be discussed after he stepped down from his position on October 16, 2022. After that Anies will start thinking about things related to the 2024 presidential election.

From their survey, it shows that the strongest candidate as a vice presidential candidate in 2024 from the ministerial cluster is occupied by Erick Thohir. Erick's electability is quite large, namely 22.2 percent. This figure is higher than Sandiaga Uno.
