Democrats Open A Meeting With Puan, PDIP: It's A Bit Difficult, But AHY's Offer Is Sah-Sah Only

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani continues to carry out political safaris to meet the general chairmen of political parties ahead of the 2024 presidential election. After visiting NasDem, Gerindra and PKB, Puan is also scheduled to meet with the General Chairperson of Golkar, Airlangga Hartarto. Responding to Puan's political safari, the Democratic Party also stated that it would be open if Puan Maharani wanted to hold a meeting with her General Chair, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). On the other hand, PDIP revealed that until now there has been no plan that Puan Maharani will meet AHY. "There has been no directive (Puan meets AHY). But the order was never revoked by the general chairman to Mbak Puan. That he was indeed asked to meet with party leaders," said Pacul. "If then AHY as the party chairman offers like that, it's legal," he added. Previously, the Democratic Party stated that it opened the door for communication between the general chairman, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and the chairman of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani. "For example, is there a meeting with Mbak Puan. Is it open? Yes, we are very open. Especially as young figures," said Head of the Democratic Party Strategic Communications Agency Herzaky Mahendra Putra at the DPP Democratic office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 29. However, Herzaky did not explain when the meeting plan between the two would be held. He only emphasized that AHY had always communicated with other political party figures, including Puan Maharani. "What is certain is that the Democrats are very open. After all, Mas AHY has always been in communication and friendship with other national figures, including political party leaders," he explained. "Even Mas AHY visited Mbak Puan at that time in the Indonesian House of Representatives. So Mas AHY came with us, came to the DPR to visit Mbak Puan in her office, Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, some time ago," added Herzaky.
