JAKARTA - North Korea (North Korea) is predicted to be able to conduct nuclear trials between October 16 and November 7, becoming the first since 2017, according to South Korean (South Korea) news agency Yonhap, citing lawmakers briefed by national intelligence agencies.

Preparations for the nuclear test have been completed in North Korea's Punggye-ri test tunnel, where Pyongyang conducted six underground nuclear tests from 2006 to 2017, news agencies reported, citing legislators briefed by the National Intelligence Agency (NIS).

The test time is likely to be determined by what happened to North Korea's main ally, China and its biggest rival, the United States, Yonhap reported, as reported by Reuters, September 28.

"NIS said if North Korea conducted a nuclear test, it could happen between China's 20th Party Congress (Komunist) on October 16 and a part-time US election on November 7", a legislator, Yoo Sang-bum, told the news agency.

Two weeks ago, North Korea released a new propaganda poster, featuring a nuclear-ile ballistic missile, for the first time in years, after Pyongyang set up its nuclear policy in a new law.

The posts underscore the need to "make the Republican armed forces stronger, by giving priority to the development of national defense capacity."

This is the first time in about five years a new poster has featured nuclear weapons, according to the NK News website.

In 2018, North Korea removed many anti-American and military-themed posters, as Kim engaged in a summit with then US President Donald Trump and other world leaders.

Photos released by KCNA show the posters don't mention the United States, but display a number of North Korea's newest missiles, including the Hwasong-15 and Hwasong-17 (ICBM) intercontinental ballistic missiles.
