Commemorating The Ikada Giant Meeting At Monas, Anies: We Make Sure All Independence Trusts Are Accompanied

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan became the inspector of the ceremony in commemoration of the 77th Ikada Giant Meeting Day held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government at South Plaza Monas, Central Jakarta.

In reading the ceremony's mandate, Anies reviewed that the Ikada Giant Meeting was held in the midst of the age of Indonesia's independence which was full of uncertainty. At that time, the community was moved to gather and discuss the fate of the nation.

"The age of this republic is only a month. At that age, it is full of uncertainty. People everywhere are talking about whether we have a future? Can we be independent? Where there is a view that independence is the desire of a small group of people. What happened? They chose to intervene directly to gather in this place. It is estimated that two hundred to two hundred and fifty thousand people gathered in this place. In the same place we stand today. at that time, they came with a spirit," said Anies, Monday, September 19.

During the meeting, Anies said the public agreed to expel colonialism from Indonesia. This is for the sake of realizing a better welfare and life.

Therefore, in this ceremony, Anies asked the employees of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to remember that the results of the independence they now feel are the fruits of their previous struggle.

Anies also asked his staff to be responsible for ensuring that independence could continue to be felt by the people of Jakarta.

"In Jakarta in this city, the effort is to maintain first and in this city we must ensure that everything promised by independence can be fulfilled by the people of Jakarta," said Anies.

"This is not a small responsibility. I invite all of us who are lucky to be able to participate in this ceremony. Bring this message to our place of work that this ceremony is to remind us that we must ensure that what we aspire to can be carried out," he continued.
