BEKASI - Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan invited students in the area to actively participate in the humanitarian activities of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) through his fostered organization, namely the Youth Red Cross (PMR).

"The PMR program must be disseminated so that other children are active. In addition, PMI and school principals as PMR coaches must be able to create creative activities so that they are eager to participate in PMR," he said after leading the 77th PMI Commemoration Ceremony in Bekasi, Saturday, September 17.

He said the local government always supports various PMI programs by providing grants including policy support for PMI's Month Fund program and providing facilities and infrastructure.

He assessed that the PMI of Bekasi Regency has been able to maintain trust, both from the government, society, and the business world through real programs in the humanitarian field.

"Because PMI's basic principles must be neutral and independent so that it does not only depend on one party. The PMI must serve universally, so independence is important for PMI," he said.

He stated that the Bekasi Regency PMI management was required to be creative in raising resources and maintaining public trust and love for the humanitarian organization.

He hopes that PMI services that have been running well will continue to be improved in terms of quality and coverage. Such as Blood Donor Units (UDD), ambulances, and disaster management assistance.

"Earlier I challenged PMI to become the Call Center Center for a quick reaction to the problems of people facing emergency conditions. If this can be realized, I am sure that PMI will fly more and the benefits will be felt by the community, and community support will definitely increase as well," said Dani Ramdan.
