PANDEGLANG - The Pandeglang Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a man with the initials M (51) on Wednesday, September 14 on suspicion of molestation of a 16-year-old child.

Kasatreskrim Polres Pandeglang AKP Fajar Mauludi said the perpetrator was arrested at his home in Banjar District, Pandeglang without a fight.

"Initially the victim's mother was suspicious of the victim who had not had her period. Then the victim's mother took the victim to a massager and asked her to check with the victim. According to the massager's statement, the victim was pregnant. Then the victim's mother took the victim to the clinic and the results of the examination were about six weeks pregnant," explained Fajar, in a written statement, Friday, September 16.

Then, the victim's mother reported to the Pandeglang Police. The results of the examination revealed that the perpetrator of the sexual abuse of her child was M.

"The suspect committed his depraved act against the victim behind a school in Kadudodol Village, Cimanuk District, Pandeglang Regency," he said.

Fajar also said that the victim had carried out the action more than twice.

"The perpetrator has committed his depraved acts against the victim twice," he explained.

The perpetrator has been detained at the Pandeglang Police Station along with evidence for further intensive examination.

"Regarding the modus operandi of the perpetrators in carrying out their actions and the possibility of other victims, this is still being investigated by investigators," he concluded.

In addition, Pandeglang Police investigators collaborated with KPAID Pandeglang Regency to provide assistance to victims considering the victim was a minor.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 82 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 82 paragraph (1) of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of a Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years and a fine of Rp. 300 million.
