JAKARTA - Governor Ganjar Pranowo seeks that public transportation actors in Central Java can receive compensation from the increase in the price of fuel oil (BBM).

"Angkot drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers, both online and conventional, must indeed be a concern and be included in the calculation to get assistance and compensation from the increase in fuel prices. They are also people who are directly affected," said Ganjar, Tuesday, September 13.

Ganjar said, the provincial government has prepared special funds for handling the impact of inflation and rising fuel prices, including two percent, which is sourced from the Central Java Provincial Government General Transfer Fund of Rp22,729,706,000.

Around Rp. 17,979,456,000 for the Transjanteng tariff subsidy in six corridors for October-December 2022. Then there is a budget for handling the impact of inflation on Unexpected Expenditures (BTT) of the Central Java Provincial Government of Rp. 22,767,355,000. From that budget, around Rp. 12,734,400,000. allocated for social assistance for 4,224 public transport crews and 17,000 online motorcycle taxi drivers in Central Java.

"My job now to secure them can work well, can get enough sustenance, God willing, and then stabilize the prices in the field," he said.

"In terms of supply, fuel is good, but earlier people were able to buy Pertalite too, even though we know it should be for those who can't afford it," he said.
