DKI DPRD Officially Announces Anies And Riza Patria's Dismissal Proposal

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD has officially submitted the proposal to dismiss DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria.

This was stated in the plenary meeting of the Announcement of the Dismissal of Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads whose terms of office ended in 2022. This plenary meeting was also attended by Anies and Riza.

"Brother Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Mr. Ahmad Riza Patira are each regional heads and deputy regional heads of DKI Jakarta for the term of 2107-2022 are proposed dismissal as regional heads and deputy regional heads specifically for the capital city of DKI Jakarta," said Prasetyo at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, September 13.

After reading this announcement, the leadership of the DPRD together with Anies and Riza signed the minutes.

On that occasion, Prasetyo said that today's plenary meeting is one of the processes for administrative completeness in the context of the dismissal of regional heads and deputy regional heads whose term of office ends in 2022.

The implementation of the plenary meeting is intended to submit proposals by the leadership of the DPRD to the President through the Minister of Home Affairs in order to determine the dismissal.

As is known, based on Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, it is emphasized that the dismissal of regional heads and/or deputy regional heads was announced by the leadership of the DPRD in a plenary meeting and proposed by the DPRD leadership to the president through ministers for governors and/or deputy governors and to the Minister through the Governor as representatives of the central government for the regent and/or deputy regents or mayors and/or deputy mayors to get a decision on the dismissal.

The terms of office of Anies Baswedan and Ahmad Riza Patria are known to end on October 16, 2022. So, starting from October 17 to the 2024 election, Jakarta will be led by the Acting Governor of DKI.
