Prisoners Increase Prisoners In Prisons, Women's Prison IIA Tangerang Pledges 24 Hour Medically

JAKARTA - A resident of the pemarakat (WBP) or a prisoner was forced to raise his baby in the Class IIA Tangerang Women's Correctional Institution (Lapas).

The head of the Tangerang Class IIA Women's Prison, Esti Wahyuningsih, said that his party was open to prisoners who were raising children in prisons. The medical team in prison with a 24-hour guard system is also ready to help if needed.

There are doctors, general practitioners, there are five nurses who they take turns every day. So 24 hours no one has ever been waiting," said Esti when met at the Tangerang Women's Prison, Sunday, September 11.

Esti said that so far there have been no obstacles in the process of treating babies by prisoners. The baby's growth and development in prisons so far is good without any health problems.

"But Alhamdulillah, until now the baby has not bothered us, the officers, because they grew healthy," he said.

He said that the prisoner who took care of her baby had been at the Class IIA Tangerang Women's Prison since the age of 11 days. Now the baby is 7 months old.

"Now it's been 7 months, he's grown in good health, healthy like before maybe everyone saw his body development, physical development and motor development. That's good, we've seen him learn to walk and learn to propagate," he said.
