Police Use Lie Detector Check For Murder Suspect Brigadier J, Expert: This Tool Reads Fisiology Response

JAKARTA - The police's move to examine the suspect in the murder of Brigadier Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J with alie detector has been in the spotlight.

Forensic Psychologist Reza Indragiri assessed that the device could only read body reactions. Reza said the tool was indeed a bombastic because it seemed to be able to read lies.

However, this tool cannot confirm the words of those who are examined with the reality.

"I firmly believe that this tool does not actually compare the words of being examined with reality, but this tool is solely reading the human physiological response," Reza said when contacted, Saturday, September 10.

"What is it, for example, the body temperature rises, sweat drips more heavily, the body feels more tense," he continued.

He said some people who were examined could show this kind of body reaction. However, Reza asked for changes shown by the body, not to be immediately called lies.

Likewise, when examined, do not show any body reaction. Do not let, continued Reza, this condition is then considered not to lie.

"So that's actually what lie detectors check. Change the human physiological side, in this case the physiological side is examined," he said.

The National Police used alie detector to examine the suspects in the murder case of Brigadier J, including Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. On Friday, September 9, the former Head of the Propam Police Division was investigated using the tool.

However, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, did not say much about the examination. Likewise with the results of the test on Ferdy Sambo's wife, Putri Candrawati.

At that time, Dedi said that the examination using alie detector was a pro-justitia or fair legal step. So, the results are only for investigators.

In addition to the husband and wife, another suspect in this case, namely Bharada Richard target, Bripka Ricky Rizal, and Strong Maruf has also undergone an examination with alie detector. Unlike Ferdy and Putri, the three were declared honest and the results were submitted to the public.
