NTB - Deputy Governor (Wagub) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, revealed that the poverty rate in NTB reached 731,940 people as of March 2022. According to him, that number is still not valid.
"As of March 2922, the NTB poverty rate reached 13.68 percent or 731,940 people. This is included in the poor category. However, this figure is still influenced by invalid data collection," he said in a written statement, Friday, September 9.
The Deputy Governor believes that the real condition of the people in NTB has not been reflected in the poverty data.
Sitti also hopes that the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) validates district/city poverty data in NTB through national registration. From the data that has been validated, he claims that the NTB Provincial Government can also solve the problem of a fairly large poverty rate.
"So excited to improve data for the people who are entitled to receive assistance," said the Deputy Governor.
The head of the NTB BPS, Wahyudin, added that the acceleration of data collection on socio-economic Registration (Regsosek) is needed to encourage poverty reduction and extreme poverty.
"Reformation on social protection programs is directed at improving the recipient database through the development of Regsosek data and accelerating the elimination of extreme poverty. This is an effort to realize One Indonesian Data that helps the central and regional governments," he said.
According to him, the initial data collection of Regsosek will produce integrated data not only for social protection programs, but also data on family socio-economic conditions needed for development planning.
"With the availability of sectoral socio-economic data, it becomes integrated and accurate data and becomes a database for the entire population consisting of profiles, social conditions, economy, and welfare levels that are connected to population parent data and other databases up to the village/kelurahan level," he said.
