General Andika Soon Retired, PDIP Politician Predicts There Will Be A Generation Cut To Select The TNI Commander

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa will soon enter retirement in December 2022. Member of Commission I of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Effendi Simbolon, predicts that there will be a generation cut to elect the TNI Commander to replace Andika Perkasa. Initially, Effendi explained his analysis regarding the change of the TNI Commander. Where, General Andika Perkasa's service period will fall on December 21, 2022. So according to him, Andika will enter retirement on January 1, 2023. Effendi said, if until October 4, 2022, no Presidential Letter (Supres) was received from President Jokowi, then calculating the trial cycle in the DPR would only be decided in November. The reason is, on October 5, 2022, the DPR has re-entered the recess period. "If the President conveys it before October 4, 2022, for example, on the 1st, the 2nd of the plenary date, the night is immediately fit and proper, on the 3rd the answer has been issued to the President, then the certificate can be done at any time," said Effendi, Friday, September 9. However, he continued, if this was only conveyed in November 2022, then the process would only start in early December. Of the three Chiefs of Staff in the Navy, Army and Air Force, Effendi assessed that all three had the same opportunity. "There are three of them, except for Mr. Fajar, it's been 11 months, stay. The average fall is November 2023 next year. Next year it will be a political year, the President will definitely consider the readiness of the TNI together with the National Police to ensure national stability," he explained. The PDIP politician said that if President Jokowi would choose one of the three Chiefs of Staff to become TNI Commanders, then the President would use a scenario to convey the Surpres in October 2022. Although, said Effendi, later the new TNI Commander will only carry out the budget that has been knocked on the hammer. In addition, Effendi revealed that there is a possibility of a new tradition to cut generations to maintain neutrality and maintain the nation's political stability in the selection of candidates for the TNI Commander in Chief to replace General Andika Perkasa.
