KPK Investigates Alleged Corruption At PT Asuransi Jasindo

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigated suspected cases of corruption related to the Oil and Gas Insurance and Reinsurance business consulting services at PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia Persero (Jasindo Insurance) 2008 to 2012.

"Currently, an investigation is being carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in cases of alleged corruption related to the Oil and Gas Insurance and Reinsurance business consulting services at PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) from 2008 to 2012," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement. in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 24.

Ali said his institution would announce the determination of the suspect in the case at the same time as the suspect's arrest or detention.

"The investigation process is currently ongoing and we will announce the party who will be named a suspect at the same time as his arrest or detention," Ali said.

He said specific information related to the case could not be conveyed at this time. "However, as mandated by the KPK Law, we will always convey the progress of this case to the public in a transparent and accountable manner," he said.

Regarding the case at Jasindo Insurance, previously the KPK had processed the former president director of the company Budi Tjahjono. Budi has also been convicted by the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) and has permanent legal force.

In April 2019, Budi was sentenced to 7 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 300 million, a subsidiary of 3 months in prison.

The verdict was handed down because Budi was proven to have committed corruption, causing losses to the state, cq PT Asuransi Jasindo, amounting to Rp8.46 billion and US $ 766,955 thousand.

Budi was proven to have manipulated agent activities and commission payments given to agents of PT Asuransi Jasindo as if they were in return for agent activities for closing asset and construction insurance at BP Migas-KKKS (Cooperation Contract Contractor) in 2010-2014, even though the closure did not use PT Asuransi Jasindo agent services.
