JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the subcontractor working on the fictitious project at PT Amarta Karya has been appointed directly. This allegation was investigated by examining four witnesses from the BUMN.

The four witnesses are Site Administration Manager of PT Amarta Karya, M. Taufik and Hafidz as well as Project Managers of PT Amarta Karya, Nurul Huda and Rahmat Wahyudi. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said they were being questioned on Monday, September 5 at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

"The witnesses were present," said Ali in a written statement, Tuesday, September 6.

Ali said KPK investigators explored a number of things in the examination. Including, the alleged appointment of a subcontractor directly by related parties in this case.

"(Witnesses, ed) were confirmed, among other things, related to the alleged direct appointment of subcontractors to work on fictitious projects at PT AK carried out by parties related to this case," he said.

Previously, the KPK investigated allegations of corruption related to project procurement at one of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), PT Amarta Karya in 2018-2020. This new investigation was carried out after the anti-corruption commission pocketed sufficient evidence.

The KPK suspects that there has been a fictitious project implementation that has caused state losses. However, it has not been specified who the party is named as a suspect.
