JAKARTA - A brawl between youths occurred under the Manggarai underpass, Tebet, South Jakarta. A clash between groups occurred on Sunday, September 4, at around 06.00 WIB. A number of residents were seen carrying sharp weapons (sajam).
Tebet Police Chief, Commissioner Chitya Intania confirmed the incident.

Erni, one of the residents around the location of the clash, said that the incident occurred at 06.00 WIB. Regarding the chronology in more detail of the brawl incident, he did not know. However, before they carried out the clashes, he had heard the sound of fireworks explosions which were considered a sign that something was going to happen.
"I don't know, suddenly the fireworks were running low, then the children immediately gathered there," said Erni at the location, Sunday, September 4.
Erni also revealed that the youths faced each other and mocked each other. They were carrying a machete.
"Yes, attack. Stay back, stay back, just keep going. Bring a long knife and keep carrying stones, with long bamboo, and fireworks. They were thrown by stones," he said.
He estimates that the actions of the two groups will take an hour to attack each other. Even so, he ensured that the incident did not cause any casualties.
"There were no casualties. The brawl seemed a bit long. The police arrived at 7 o'clock," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the South Jakarta Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Yandri Irsan, said that the dispute occurred in just 1.5 hours because the Polsek and Printis Presisi quickly came to the field led directly by the Sector Police Chief.
