JAKARTA - Member of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Justin Adrian Untayana, admitted that he was surprised by the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forests Service, which often frees up land using the DKI Regional Budget.

This member of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD also asked the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service to disclose data regarding details on land purchases and what percentage of land has been used.

"I want to know, as long as 2021 at least the lands that have been acquired by the park and city forest offices are what percentage has been used?" Justin said in his statement, Thursday, September 1.

Justin's surprise is based on the discovery of an area of 3,600 square meters behind the Kramat Jati Main Market. This land has been acquired by the City Parks and Forest Service since 2010.

"But until now it has not been used," he said.

Justin views that the DKI Provincial Government should be sensitive to this, especially in the use of land for the benefit of DKI Jakarta residents.

"All of the people of DKI really hope that the land can be used because there (Kramat Jati area) is prone to flooding, so that water catch or catchment facilities are needed," he said.

Justin has also asked about the urgency of the City Parks and Forest Service which likes to disburse hundreds of billions of dollars per year for land acquisition, but has not been used.

However, he was disappointed with the response of the City Parks and Forest Service which could not directly answer the data he asked during the meeting.

"Unfortunately, the Head of the City Parks and Forest Service stated that the answer would be given in 2-3 days because he had to check the data first, even though he had come to the meeting with all his staff and friends," he concluded.
