Hit By Extreme Weather, Paulus Waterpaw Group Helicopter Landing Emergency

PAPUA - The SNX Air Bis H 130 helicopter carrying a group of West Papua Governor Paulus Waterpaw landed an emergency at Aimas Square, Sorong Regency, Sunday, August 28 afternoon.

The helicopter that Paulus Waterpaw and his entourage were traveling with departed from Torea Airport, Fakfak Regency at around 12.30 WIT.

Originally arrived at Dominic Eduard Osok Airport in Sorong City but experienced problems in the middle of the flight due to extreme weather.

"However, due to bad weather, it landed an emergency in the Aimas square, the capital of Sorong district", said Expert Staff of Governor Viky Abaidata in Sorong, West Papua, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 29.

In the helicopter, Paulus Waterpaw was accompanied by Assistant II of the West Papua Regional Secretary, the Head of the Protocol Division, and the Governor's aide. While the helicopter was driven by Captain Pilot Hendra and Engineer Nindo.

"Initially we went to Domine Eduard Osok Airport, Sorong City, to pick up the group at that time, it was raining heavily, but we received landing information and changed because of bad weather and we picked up the Regent, the Mayor immediately rushed to Aimas Square, Sorong Regency", he said.
