Megawati Hands Over 1 Name Of PDI-P Cadre To Replace The Late Tjahjo Kumolo To President Jokowi

JAKARTA - PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party had submitted the replacement name of the late Tjahjo Kumolo, the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) who died on July 1, 2022.

Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that there were more than one PDIP cadre name proposed to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to become Menpan-RB.

"Yes, last Thursday, Ibu Mega (Ketum PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri) met with President Jokowi and the names have been submitted," Hasto said to reporters on the sidelines of the Painting Exhibition 'Freedom of Harmony in the Cempaka Putih area, Jakarta, Tuesday. , August 23.

According to Hasto, the name submission was in accordance with the presidential system implemented in Indonesia. In this system of government, it is the president who has the right to decide which name is chosen to replace Tjahjo.

"So that the names have been submitted. So that Mr President Jokowi will determine and will determine when the momentum will be," said Hasto. Asked who the names were handed over to Jokowi, Hasto refused to answer.

He said, previously, PDIP suggested that Jokowi take a break to decide who would replace Tjahjo, after the 40-day mourning period was over.

According to him, this is now too much. Thus, in the near future, PDI-P believes that Jokowi will announce the name.

"That has been fulfilled and now it is the president who will later announce who will replace Mr. Tjahjo," said Hasto.

When asked about the urgency of the reshuffle, Hadto gave a long answer. He explained, for PDIP, too often reshufle is not a conducive situation.

But PDIP believes that if the president does a reshuffle, then it is to increase the effectiveness and performance of the government. He stressed that on the one hand, PDI-P sees too many reshuffles as not good, but understands that the president must reshuffle if the ministers do not perform well.

For PDIP, continued Hasto, the current priority scale is to fill vacant positions and for all ministerial ranks to move simultaneously in one rhythm to build synergy, connectivity, and coordination. And take breakthrough steps in scoring achievements.

"But in terms of evaluating the president, the minister did not perform well, the PDI-P proposes the president to take firm action. Because if we only monitor from evaluation instruments due to global pressure, this will increase which has an impact on the poor, for those with fixed incomes such as retirees. So all ministers must have a sense of crisis," said Hasto.
