Ridwan Kamil On The Sanctions To Remove Regional Heads Of Prokes Violators From The Minister Of Home Affairs: Must Be Viewed Comprehensively

BANDUNG - West Java (West Java) Governor M Ridwan Kamil said that his party would discuss instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian regarding enforcement of health protocols that could result in regional heads being removed if they violated them.

"The removal policy must be seen comprehensively. I will discuss it tomorrow. Because of this, it must be seen comprehensively whether the regional heads have violated the law," Ridwan Kamil, who is familiarly called Kang Emil, told reporters in Bandung, quoted by Antara, Thursday, 19 November.

"So usually the dismissal is in the definition of a violation of the law if you personally commit a despicable act that violates the law," continued Kang Emil.

He said that if it is related to the dynamics of the crowd that has occurred recently, there needs to be further discussion so that he is so that the general public understands this rule.

"So tomorrow we will discuss elaboration instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Sample demo, that's the crowd. Every time there is a demonstration, multiply everything, then the regional head must be technically responsible, "he said.

On the other hand, according to Kang Emil, this policy was inseparable from the polemic of the crowd in activities that Rizieq Syihab attended, starting at Soekarno Hatta Airport and activities in Jakarta to Bogor Regency.

In fact, in his view, the dynamics regarding this crowd occurred before the moment of Rizieq Syihab's return.

"But maybe because it was together with Habib Rizieq Syihab, who had not been in Indonesia for a long time, this caused tremendous attention," said Kang Emil.

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian issued instruction Number 6 of 2020 concerning Enforcement of Health Protocols to Control the Spread of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).

The Minister of Home Affairs asked regional heads to consistently implement health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

One of the sanctions for a regional head who violates the health protocol is removal from office.

In Law Number 23 of 2014 Article 27 paragraph b, the obligation of the regional head is to comply with statutory regulations, including regional regulations and regional head regulations.
