Victim Of Sexual Harassment At PT Kawan Lama Reports To Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - Victims of sexual harassment with the initials RF reported allegations of sexual harassment by two employees of PT Kawan Lama Group DC and SB to Polda Metro Jaya.

"We are overseeing this case regarding acts of sexual violence perpetrated by an individual in a company and we have reported it to the Polda Metro Jaya," said RF attorney from the Mawar Saron Legal Aid Institute (LBH), Dito Sitompul, when met at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, reported by Antara, Saturday, August 20.

Dito said the report was recorded under the number LP/B/4270/VIII/2022/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

It was explained that the two perpetrators were suspected of having sexually harassed the victim by taking pictures of the victim's body parts and spreading them on WhatsApp groups.

In the group, both of them made sentences that allegedly insulted the victim's body parts. Dito and his staff strongly condemned the sexual harassment experienced by his client.

Therefore, his party urges that the perpetrators can be charged with the products of Law Number 12/2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence, in particular articles 14, 5 and 5.

Dito also explained one article that he used to ensnare the two perpetrators.

Article 14 of Law No. 12/2022 concerning TPKS, paragraph 1 states that any person who without the right to record and or take pictures or screenshots that are sexually charged against the will and or consent of the person who is the object of the recording, or pictures or screenshots, shall be subject to criminal prosecution. imprisonment for a maximum of four years and/or a fine of a maximum of Rp. 200 million.

He also admitted that he had sufficient evidence in the form of screenshots of conversations in the group and other photos related to the act of sexual harassment.

Dito will make sure to monitor the ongoing legal process at Polda Metro Jaya.

This is done so that the investigation process can run optimally and the case file can be complete so that the case is ready for trial.

At the same time, the legal counsel also responded to the company's response that they did not fire the two perpetrators from the company.

Even though the request for the two employees to be fired was made by the husband of RF, namely RP.

Yoshua Napitupulu as the Head of the Criminal Division of LBH Mawar Saroh ensured that his party would not mix the reported criminal process with the company's decision to the employees.

"When it comes to that problem, don't mix it up with the company's problems," said Joshua.

Chronology

The alleged sexual harassment incident occurred in July 2022. At that time, RF as an employee of the company was asked to act as a model for the company's product photos.

When he finished changing clothes for the photo session, one part of RF's body was exposed because the clothes were not covered. That part of the body was photographed by one of the people suspected of being employees of the company.

The photo was also distributed to a WhatsApp chat application group containing company employees. In the group, several people in it gave statements that allegedly harassed the victim.

The group conversation was also photographed by RF's wife, RP, and uploaded to his Twitter account @jerangkah on Sunday, August 14.

For this action, RP demanded that the company fire two employees who were suspected of harassing the WhatsApp group, namely SB and DC.

In addition, RP also asked the company where his wife works to allow RF to leave without passing a one month notice.
