The Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Kombes Adam Erwindi, said that in addition to ensuring the security of the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony, the 546 joint personnel were deployed in the context of kamtibmas.

"A total of 546 joint personnel were deployed to carry out security for three days, namely securing the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony on August 17, as well as anticipating disturbances in public order and security on August 18 and 19 as a warning against racism in Papua and West Papua," said Kombes Adam as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday. , August 17 in the morning.
