The Traditional Babylonian Clothes With Bamboo Shoot Motifs Worn By Jokowi Symbolize Harmony

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo wore a green Bangka Belitung traditional dress with a pattern of bamboo shoots while attending the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD.

Reported by ANTARA, based on information shared by the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, the bamboo shoot motif symbolizes harmony, while the green color was chosen because it contains the philosophy of coolness, hope, and growth.

The President arrived at the parliament complex accompanied by his wife Iriana Joko Widodo at around 09.00 WIB, Tuesday, August 16.

The First Lady was present wearing a pink kebaya complete with a matching hijab and equipped with brown batik cloth.

Previously, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and his wife arrived first at around 08.48 WIB. The Vice President was present wearing traditional Solo clothes with blanks, while Wury Ma'ruf Amin wore a green kebaya.

The vice president chose the top outfit in the form of a black Sikepan suit combined with white interior with a watch chain decoration on the chest accompanying the presidential emblem, and wore a flat Blangkon Trepes on the back. As for his subordinates, the Vice President wore a brown batik jarik cloth with a Sidomukti motif and gold-colored slippers.

Meanwhile, Wury Ma'ruf Amin was seen wearing a green kartini kebaya combined with a matching headscarf, which was paired with batik cloth and a dark scarf.

The presence of President Jokowi in the parliament complex to attend the Annual Session of the MPR, the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD in 2022 and the Plenary Meeting for the Opening of the Session I of the DPR RI for the 2022-2023 Session.

The President is scheduled to deliver a state speech as well as an introduction to the RAPBN for Fiscal Year 2023 along with a Financial Note.
