Sandiaga Uno Raises The Economy Of The Bantar Gebang Residents Through The Harvest Of Lalap Catfish

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno again visited the Tunas Mulia Natural School Islamic Boarding School Foundation, Bantar Gebang, Bekasi. Sandiaga teaches students and the local community about entrepreneurship through the 'Panen Juragan Lele' program.

This program collaborates with Rumah Ready to Work (RSK) and Rumah Sandi Uno Indonesia (RSI) in creating new business opportunities that utilize catfish as the main raw material. Sandiaga said that his harvest had already been produced, including crispy catfish, smoked catfish, catfish pempek, catfish crackers, and frozen catfish.

"After we carried out the lalap catfish skipper program, today we harvest 300 kilograms. The derivative products already exist, ranging from crispy catfish, smoked catfish, catfish pempek, catfish crackers, and frozen catfish," said Sandiaga in Bantar Gebang , Bekasi, Monday 15 August.

Sandiaga said this program can increase the income of residents. Because catfish is a solution in growing MSME products and the economy of the Bantar Gebang community.

"With the existence of this catfish, it was sold for Rp. 25 thousand. People's income has increased and the economy has been lifted. That is what I want to present from this program so that we can solve the inflation that hit the lower classes of society," he said.

This program is the result of a lalap catfish business that has been running for approximately three months. Not only that, processed catfish derivatives can increase the economic value by two to three times.

Sandiaga appreciates mothers who already have a business through fish farming in buckets (budikdamber). So they can create new jobs in their area.

"In this program, Mrs. Siti, Mrs. Ayu, and Mrs. Nur already have businesses, which means they can create jobs. So for the skipper program, the catfish lalap is a success," said Sandi.

In this activity, Sandiaga also provided business equipment assistance. They are oil drainer, special knife for fish fillet, vacuum sealer, vacuum plastic, smoke drum and chopper.
