Wants To Step On The Gas, PKB Hopes That Prabowo And Cak Imin Will Immediately Decide Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - PKB said that until now there has been no decision on who will be the presidential candidate from the coalition with Gerindra.

Previously, the Rapimnas of the Gerindra Party unanimously supported its general chairman, Prabowo Subianto, to become a presidential candidate in 2024. Meanwhile, PKB still wants to nominate Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.

Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, said that Prabowo and Cak Imin had the same chance to become presidential candidates. However, he emphasized that the authority to decide on the figure of a presidential candidate rests with the leaders of the two political parties.

"Gus Muhaimin and Pak Prabowo are still equal candidates for president from their respective parties. That is, Gus Muhaimin is the presidential candidate that PKB decided and Pak Prabowo is the presidential candidate from the Gerinda Rapimnas," said Jazilul, Monday, August 15.

However, he continued, the machines of the two parties were connected and running. Later, said Jazilul, Prabowo and Cak Imin will decide which of the two will become presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"One of the points in the charter of the PKB Gerindra coalition is that the presidential and vice presidential candidates from this coalition are decided jointly by the chairman of the Gerindra DPP and the chairman of the PKB DPP," he said.

However, Jazilul said that PKB hoped that Prabowo and Cak Imin would immediately determine who the presidential candidate from the coalition declared on Saturday, August 13, would be.

That way, according to him, the coalition can immediately work to win the pair that is carried in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"We hope that it will be decided soon, so that it is clear, start and step on the gas," said Jazilul.
