JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri warned that the appointment of the state civil apparatus (ASN) must be carried out professionally. They must be placed in positions that match their competencies and abilities.

This warning was delivered after the KPK named Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung as a suspect in the alleged bribery of buying and selling positions.

"There should be no intervention, entrusted. Why? So that ASN has the ability and (can, ed) become competitive ASN, who has advantages," said Firli, quoted from the KPK RI YouTube show, Saturday, August 13.

The KPK, continued Firli, appealed to ASN not to be seduced by buying and selling positions. Moreover, high corruption-prone points in the promotion process have been identified.

"So that the KPK through its coordination and supervision tasks and the Stranas PK continues to oversee efforts to improve every ministry, institution and local government so that these vulnerable gaps are immediately addressed and supported with an attitude of integrity," he said.

"We call on this to be the attention of every regional head and inspectorate, to be committed to implementing the principles of good governance that are free from corruption for the sake of advancing Indonesia," continued Firli.

Mukti was named a suspect by the KPK along with five other people. They are the Commissioner of PD Aneka Usaha Adi Jumal Wibowo, Acting Secretary of Pemalang Regency Slamet Masduki, Head of BPBD Sugiyanto, Head of Kominfo Pemalang Regency Yanuarius Nitbani, and Head of Pemalang Regency Public Works Department Mohammad Saleh.

The determination of the suspect was carried out after the KPK carried out a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Thursday, August 11. During the operation, the team found evidence in the form of Rp. 136 million in cash, a Bank Mandiri savings book in the name of Adi Jumal Widodo which contained Rp. 4 billion, a BNI deposit slip in Adi Jumal's name worth Rp. 680 million, and an ATM card in the name of Adi Jumal used by Mukti.

After being named a suspect, Mukti was detained at the KPK Detention Center at the Red and White Building. While Adi occupies the KPK Detention Center in Lot C1.

Meanwhile, three other suspects were detained at the KPK Detention Center at Pomdam Jaya Guntur. The detention was carried out for the first 20 days until August 31.

The KPK revealed that Mukti set a tariff of between Rp. 60 million and Rp. 350 million. This is adjusted to the position that the candidate wants to occupy. The money received by Mukti through Adi is thought to have reached Rp4 billion. Furthermore, the money is used for personal purposes.
