11 Students Become Victims Of The Collapse Of MIN Building In Banda Aceh, Police Examine Construction Workers Investigate Elements Of Negligence

BANDA ACEH - The Banda Aceh Police handled 11 of the 13 students who were victims of the collapse of the Islamic State Islamic School (MIN) 2 Banda Aceh study center. Police have also checked the construction workers.

"Regarding the victims, so far we have obtained data of 13 people," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police, Kompol M Ryan Citra Yudha in Banda Aceh, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 12.

Ryan said that of the 13 victims, including 11 local students, then one teacher and another community member who was at the scene at the time, all of them had received medical treatment.

"Surely all the victims have received medical treatment after yesterday's incident (the MIN building collapsed)," he said.

Previously, the collapse of the study hall occurred at around 15:00 WIB. Where at that time a number of grade 3 students were doing recitation activities.

Then, suddenly the triangle (roof truss) of the building that was being built next to it fell on the canopy of the recitation hall until it finally fell on the student who was reading the Koran.

Ryan said that after the incident his party immediately brought several witnesses from the crime scene (TKP), including local construction workers.

An important investigation is carried out to find out whether there was an element of negligence or not that caused part of the building to collapse and hit the students who were studying.

"Of course, requests for information will continue to be made to witnesses and related parties in connection with the incident," said Commissioner Ryan.
