The Attorney General's Office Has Received SPDP Inspector General Ferdy Sambo In The Brigadier J Shooting Case

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has received a letter of notification of the commencement of the investigation (SPDP) against Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, a suspect in the alleged criminal act of premeditated murder against Brigadier J.

Kapuspenkum Attorney General's Office Ketut Sumedana said that after receiving the SPDP from the Criminal Investigation Police investigators, the Attorney General's Office had also issued the appointment of a Public Prosecutor (JPU) in the case.

"We have received the SPDP, and at the same time have issued the appointment of the Public Prosecutor in the said case," said Ketut when confirmed via text message in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, August 12.

According to Ketut, the Attorney General's Office will be professional in handling every case, including cases that attract public attention. "Prosecutors who handle any case or for all cases without being ordered and ordered are definitely professional in handling them, otherwise there will be consequences from the leadership," said Ketut.

Ketut also said that the most important thing in resolving the case until it reaches the court is coordination with investigators and public prosecutors in order to speed up the process of resolving the case.

The case added that the handling of this case was directly supervised by the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum) Fadil Zumhana. "The control of the case is carried out by Jampidum directly," said Ketut.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Mekopolhukam) Mahfud MD, stated that the government through the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs would continue to oversee the investigation into the case of Brigadier J's death.

After guarding the determination of the suspects, the government through the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs will escort the Prosecutor's Office in building legal construction, then take action in court with serious charges and prosecutions.

In addition, the Head of Kompolnas also stated that his party would encourage the Prosecutor's Office to have the same spirit as the National Police in taking professional action on the case of Brigadier J's death.

"The prosecutor must be really professional in handling this case with a strong legal construction, so that it will be easier for the court and the public to understand this case as an effort to enforce law and justice," said Mahfud.

Investigators from the Special Police Team have named four suspects in the case of Brigadier J's death, namely Inspector General Pol. Ferdy Sambo, Bharada Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu or Bharada RE or Bharada E, Brigadier Chief (Bripka) Ricky Rizal or Bripka RR, and one civilian suspect named Strong or KM (driver Putri Candrawathi).

These four suspects are charged with premeditated murder, Article 340 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment, or a maximum of 20 years in prison.

In this case, the facts also revealed that Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J was shot dead by Bharada E on the orders of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. Investigations by the National Police Timsus did not find any shooting incident as reported at the beginning of the incident.

The shooting case against Brigadier J occurred at the official residence of the former Head of the Propam Division of the National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo at the Duren Tiga Police Complex, South Jakarta, last Friday, August 8. Until now, investigators are still investigating the motive for the murder of Brigadier J.
