Providing Protection For Assets Owned By Muhammadiyah, Minister Hadi Tjahjanto Orders All BPN Offices To Assist With Certification

JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Hadi Tjahjanto ensured that the government provides protection for all Muhammadiyah assets that do not yet have a certificate with asset verification and certification.

This was conveyed by Hadi while visiting the PP Muhammadiyah office in Jakarta. According to Hadi, if Muhammadiyah assets do not yet have a certificate, they will be made immediately. The goal, so that the assets of Islamic organizations are not usurped by parties who are not responsible.

“Muhammadiyah has so many assets. There are hundreds of universities, thousands of schools, and hospitals including clinics, all of which we will back up," Hadi said in an electronic message received in Jakarta, Thursday, August 11.

Hadi promised to provide certificates for assets belonging to Muhammadiyah in all regions. Even the retired TNI-AU ordered all BPN offices in the region to help issue the certificate.

General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nasir said that assets belonging to Muhammadiyah spread across Indonesia must be safeguarded considering that all Muhammadiyah assets do not belong to individuals, but belong to organizations.

“Muhammadiyah is a social organization that was established before the Republic was established. Of course, all assets belong to the organization, not to individuals. All of its assets are used for the purposes of education, health, and social services," said Haedar.

Besides being spread throughout Indonesia, continued Haedar, Muhammadiyah's assets are also located abroad, so it is necessary to maintain these assets. One of the efforts is by collaborating with the Ministry of ATR/BPN to make the certificate.

“We also support the ministries that support our efforts, because such steps will make Muhammadiyah's efforts in various fields more easily felt by the public. Muhammadiyah has never controlled assets that do not belong to it,” said Haedar.
