Turkish Drone Manufacturer Bayraktar Wants To Open Factory In Ukraine, Kremlin: Immediately Becomes Demilitarized Target

JAKARTA - The Kremlin has confirmed that a Turkish drone factory will become a target for the demilitarization of the Russian army, if it is established on Ukrainian territory, it will only add to the suffering of civilians.

This is related to the plans of Turkish military drone manufacturer Bayraktar to open a factory in Ukraine. It is known, Bayraktar drones are widely used on the front lines of the Ukrainian battle against Russia.

"The fact the opening of such a facility, which will inevitably become an immediate target for demilitarization, will only prolong the suffering of Ukrainian citizens but will in no way help to avoid the main objective of special military operations," Peskov said speaking at a news briefing.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bondar said on Monday the Turkish company Baykar Makina had purchased a plot of land in Ukraine, in connection with plans to build a factory there, for the production of Bayraktar combat drones.

"And that (the commitment to start the construction of a factory in Ukraine) is not only political, but also practical, because most of the models that will be produced at this plant will have components of Ukrainian production," Bodnar said as quoted by the Daily Sabah.

Earlier, the Ukrainian government passed a bill on the ratification of an agreement with Turkey on cooperation in the high-tech, aviation and aerospace sector, allowing to build a Bayraktar production and maintenance plant in Ukraine on July 19.

It is known, Turkey has been producing combat drones both for the needs of its armed forces and for export in recent years. Currently, six countries have operationalized the Bayraktar TB2 combat drone: Azerbaijan, Qatar, Libya, Morocco, Poland and Ukraine. In addition, Turkish-made Bayraktar drones are used in combat operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria and Libya.
